Hi all, happy to be here
As requested, a short introduction. I'm an engineer working for Environment and Climate Change Canada. My team builds and uses open source software to make weather/climate/water data available to the world as open data (around 75M data/API requests served daily). I also work with the United Nations on related data interchange projects. I'm unfortunately not much of a coder myself at this point, given I've been on the management side for too long (and my free time goes to music projects instead of coding projects! :-). I'm excited by what we build and deliver.
I'm enthusiastic in my personal life as well I'm a father/lover with a deep interest in expressive synth music playing. I've been playing Animoog regularly since 2013 (I published animoog.org a long time ago, I like to believe it still has some value). I use a few controllers such as the ROLI Seaboard. I published a few albums but if there was one to listen to it would be 'stars' under the 'Satri' artist name, which includes my best Animoog, Model 15, Model D and Seaboard solos. Yeah, synth solos (single take, no loops, no percussions) is what I've done the past decade. A listener mentioned in a comment a while ago that I "make synths sing". I would consider myself serious in my musical projects, despite being a hobby. Currently working hard on a new piano/synth/singing project.. taking more time than I hoped, but results so far are better than I initially expected?
My interests in Uwyn projects include:
- MIDI Tape Recorder : which I currently use but aren't that much familiar with it yet to be honest
- MPE : yes yes, this is central to my music creation process
- I also have an interest in GECO / MidiWrist / Send-ReceiveMIDI, but not using those at this point. I have a dream controller in mind that would leverage some of the underlying concepts though
- I love what Geert/Uwyn does in general. It inspires me
I'll stop here, but don't hesitate if you have questions or comments. Sincere regards -- Alex / Satri
